DOF

January 29, 2007

This is from a cafe in Copenhagen. Shot through the glas counter. I like the light – or lack of it. I used my 50mm 1.4. It might look like the White Balance is slighty of, but the light was like this and the icing on the cake to the left was true yellow.
Maybe the DOF (depth of field) is too shallow. What do you think?

Night time try-out

January 10, 2007

Hey YOU! Yes YOU! Do you have any suggestions or ideas when it comes to night time photography? I have some. And here you see a frame I did this evening in Copenhagen. I get a lot of noise in the photo so I turned to Noise Ninja. Well, first things first: Capsure One, then Photoshop and finally a little fooling around in Noise Ninja.

One thing I’ve learned: Don’t shoot to late in the evening/night. If the sky is an important part, do it while there is still some blue color left in the sky. At this photo it is almost too late! The sky is boring black and that means no texture or anything.

Your thoughts?
